Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2026

TariffTracker.ai (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates tarifftracker.ai. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address via Clerk authentication. We do not store passwords directly — authentication is handled by Clerk (clerk.com).

Usage data: We track the number of lookups performed to enforce free tier limits. For guest users, usage limits are enforced server-side using an anonymized identifier derived from your IP address to prevent abuse. No account is created, and this identifier is not linked to any personal information. For authenticated users, lookup history is stored on our servers to enable history and project features.

Email subscriptions: If you sign up for tariff alerts, we store your email address and selected alert categories in our database.

Waitlist and newsletter signups: When you join the waitlist or subscribe to product updates, we collect your email address, company name (if provided), and use case (if provided). We also record your IP address at the time of signup to prevent spam. Your email is sent to our team in an internal notification; it is not shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than product updates.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tools.

How We Use Your Information

Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal information where necessary to provide the service you request, to operate and improve the platform, and where you have provided consent such as subscribing to alerts.

Data Storage

International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located in the United States and other jurisdictions.

Data Retention

We retain account data while your account remains active. If you request account deletion, associated data will be removed within 30 days except where retention is required for security or legal compliance.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication session management via Clerk. We use Google Analytics cookies for usage tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.

Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on third-party service providers including Clerk for authentication, a secure cloud database provider for database infrastructure, and Google Analytics for usage analytics. These providers may process limited information necessary to operate the service.

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

Children's Privacy

TariffTracker is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at pro@tarifftracker.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
